Read this in the May 12, 2008 issue of Time. Deepak Chopra wrote an article about the Dalia Lama for his entry in the Time 100 most influential people in the world.
The Dalai Lama said "to ignore all organized faiths and keep to the road of higher consciousness", because "without relying on religion, we look to common sense, common experience and the findings of science for understanding".
I thought that was very insightful, and really amazed that these words came from the spiritual leader of a major religion.
